That is not true, Japanese just have a different taste in games, Halo aint a quality game for the Japanese gamer, patriotism have nothing to do with that, just notice how apple are doing with their iphones, ipods macs etc..Japanese people buy quality products, they have no problem with whatever American or European over there.

Unreal Engine needs to gets better character models. Every game made using those engine have bloated fat players. Sony should license all their first party engine to other noobs developers. It will help them get more money plus better games in the process win win situation...
